VINTAGE 40s WOOL JACKET | SIZE S

This vintage 1940s beige wool jacket bears witness to the quality typical of Florence Travis’ curation in order to meet her clientele’s high expectations for fashionable, well-made clothing. Beautifully tailored & hand-finished by Kolmer, with gorgeous, thick & solid Bakelite button + a silk crepe lining. Divine!

Florence Travis (1915-2004) was an influential clothier in West Hartford, Ct, bringing the highest quality fashion from NYC to her suburban clientele. She was known for her impeccable hand-finished merchandise, top notch service & stylish appearance - even into her senior years. The Florence Travis stores closed for business in 1996 after over 60 years in operation.

CONDITION:

Very good - excellent condition. Lining is in very good condition except for light underarm stains seen upon close inspection, and 1 tear on the sleeve seam about 1. 25" long - see last photo. Price reflects flaws.

SIZE:

No size tag. Best modern fit: S (4/6) No stretch. Leave approx 2 inches at bust & waist for a comfortable fit, less for a tighter fit.
