For sale here is a recent FE Thomas Special bamboo rod crafted by Steve Campbell, the current proprietor of the Thomas Rod Co, about 4-5 years ago. This rod is a 6 1/2 foot rod with two sections and two tips for a 3 or 4 weight line. Classic medium action taper. The rod remains in mint condition. Thomas Specials are finished in the natural straw color of the bamboo. Mountings are of German silver. Guides are bronzed steel snake guides with a nickel stripping guide. The rod has the unique Thomas integrated hook keeper, dark brown silk windings, cigar shaped grip, and a cap and ring seat. Comes with original bag and tube. Steve currently charges $2295 for a Special and his wait list is ~8 months, so grab this one in mint condition for less, without the wait.
