The handles are silver with large and small holes through them. What is interesting about this is that the frame underneath is gold colored so the flair in the Gold Panning is muted with small insurrections of color. The blade is in a tanto point style constructed of Damascus steel which is durable and retains a keen edge. The aluminum handles won’t fall behind either in terms of durability. The Gold Panning Butterfly Knife comes equipped with a lock connected to the base of the left handle. Simply close the knife and slide the lock into the right handle and the knife will stay closed.
