Rare 1960s maxi dress with attached shorts! Bold black and white satin skirt and shorts combine with a soft velvet bodice, embellished with rhinestone buttons. There is a deep slit on the left side of the skirt. The edges are tacked together in two places about thigh and hip level. I presume that it is expected that the wearer will remove the tacked threads and have the skirt be completely open on the left side so you can see the shorts. Otherwise, there is no point to the shorts. There is a metal zipper up the back. A wide satin-covered belt is included (some yellowing on the belt). The bodice is lined with black acetate and the shorts are lined with white acetate. The skirt is not lined. No maker's label present. Union label present.
