When these animals end up at a rescue or shelter - whether it be from neglect, injury or surrendered by their owner, they need just as much attention and supplies as other pets. Financial resources are often very tight for shelters and rescues and they need to go toward food and shelter, so other items fall to the wayside. While shelters often receive items for cats and dogs, smaller pet donations are usually few and far in-between. Although tiny, these cute critters do need essential supplies, and some fun ones too! By providing these supplies you can help a small animal have a happy, hygienic, and comfy life while awaiting their forever family.

Ludwig and Gino, 8 month old guinea pigs, were surrendered to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. The shelter was "thrilled to receive some enrichment items for the small animals" in their care. These sweet little guys were adopted soon after this photo was taken.
