Larque Harootunian is having a very messy mid-life crisis. A 'doppelganger' she unconsciously created out of nowhere turns out to be herself at age 10 - a scabby-kneed accuser who entices the 40 year-old Larque out into the adult night in the search of lost dreams. But Larque is straying further and further from home. The road ends at Poplar Street, where life is exciting and there Larque is to be remade into the new "Lark" - younger, stronger, braver - and male!
