The 10th Special Forces Group is the oldest SF group, formed on June 19, 1952 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Colonel Aaron Bank was in command. As the first Special Forces unit, the 10th SFG established the standards, traditions, and operational concepts that would define Army Special Forces for generations to come. Colonel Bank and his original cadre created the foundation for unconventional warfare that continues to guide Green Berets today.
