The Mermaid is known in many cultures. Woman above the waist and a fish below, she is the perfect symbol of oceanic love, mystery, beauty, and danger. The Mermaid is related to the ancient Siren of Greek mythology, who would sing to distract sailors to their doom. Mermaids also share similarities with the goddess Yemoyah, the Irish Merrow, and the Selkie, and the Elemental Water creature, the Undine.
