Made with 100% pure new wool tartan fabric, the Mowat Modern is a classic green-based tartan with shades of blue and a yellow overcheck.

Believed to be of Norman origin the Mowats settled in Scotland in the 12th century. They acquired lands of Ferne, in Angus, during the reign of King William the Lion and rose to high positions. Some of the names are found in the Highlands and Orkney and Shetland. The northern Mowats appear to have been septs of Clan Sutherland.
