What protection do the EP motorcycle radiator guards give?

The two EP Radiator Guards protect the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure radiators from damage by road debris while allowing cooling air to pass through. A radiator’s delicate cooling fins easily bend, and misaligned fins can cause overheating. The radiators’ internal cores can also be punctured by stones, which are usually picked up and flung directly into the radiator from passing traffic or other vehicles in front. Leaking coolant will make the R 1250 GS Adventure inoperable because of overheating, which can result in engine damage. Leaking coolant is also slippery and can cause loss of grip if it gets onto the tyres.
