Inspired by Tuareg crosses, we found these 24kt gold-plated brass versions to be statement-jewelry worthy, yet light and sized right! These are of Turkish origin, with posts or wires with many different gemstones.  Lightweight and simple tribal geometry lets you easily wear these with big statement neckpieces.

There are several theories about this tribal symbol: One states that it is fashioned after the Southern Cross because of the resemblance between the position of the four stars of the constellation and the Tuareg talisman.  Another, is that it is given by a father to his son when he reaches 15 years of age, when a boy becomes a man and is free to travel anywhere he wishes. The four points of the cross symbolize the four corners of the world, with limitless horizons!
