Installation & Maintenance Tips

• Mounting Width: Ensure you have at least 36" of flat transom space on either side of your outdrive or outboard(s). These are wide tabs; check for interference with swim platform brackets.

• Bleeding the System: Once installed, run the tabs all the way down and back up 3–4 times. The Bennett system is self-bleeding; any air in the lines will be pushed back to the HPU reservoir.

• Sacrificial Anodes: Because these are large stainless steel surfaces, you must install zinc or aluminum anodes (typically R-3 size) directly to the tabs to prevent galvanic corrosion, especially if the boat is kept in a slip.

• Fluid Check: Once a season, check the HPU reservoir (usually mounted in the engine room or lazarette). Use any Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) to top it off.
