We scored a small amount of slightly aged raw puerh maocha material from spring 2014, and pressed it in 2019.

The loose maocha has been stored cleanly by the farmer in Xishuangbanna, leaving the tea with a good amount of character development but no detectable off notes or dank flavours resulting from too much humidity during storage.

This raw puerh tea is smooth, soft, and sweet with a touch of underlying bitterness and a deceptive amount of strong body feeling. Some sweeter floral and slight fruity flavours are beginning to surface and will deepen in time under appropriate storage conditions.

The tea material is from older trees growing in an excellent forest environment, and a less famous provenance keeps the price lower than teas from hyped areas.

200g per compressed cake, with 5 cakes per traditionally wrapped bamboo tong. 25g samples are cut or broken from the cakes and sealed into bags.
