The disposable, water resistant, and sterile Dexcom G4/G5 Platinum Sensor is the only sensor on the market today approved for up to 7 days of use. This CGM sensor is used in conjunction with either the Dexcom G4 Platinum or G5 Mobile line of DexCom products. This super thin sensor needle is not only simple to use and wear, but it is also virtually painless in all ways. While other brands have rigid, rectangular probes, the Dexcom G4 Platinum Sensor offers a round, comfort-design, making it flexible, comfortable, and body-friendly.

These Dexcom G4 and G5 platinum Continuous Glucose Monitoring sensors are made up of an applicator, a sensor pod, and sensor wire. You need to remove the applicator after insertion. The sensor pod stays on your skin for the entire sensor session, which is up to 7 days. The pod is made of a plastic, adhesive patch. The sensor wire is conveniently thin and flexible, and inserts just under your skin. It's attached to the sensor pod, and is made up of silver and platinum metal with polymer membranes. At the end of the session you discard the sensor.
