Tower Bowl stood at Broadway and Kettner in San Diego, a striking Art Deco landmark from the late 1930s that turned bowling into something grand. Leagues and locals kept the lanes alive for decades, making it the neighborhood's anchor. Some buildings just hold space, but Tower Bowl held a community together. Part of our Retro Bowling collection, featuring the defunct alleys of yesteryear.
The Details:
Golden-yellow cursive and bold block text reads "The TOWER Bowl" at the upper left. An Art Deco illustration of a tall spired tower with a vertical marquee spelling "BOWLING" in circular letter enclosures stands to the right, flanked by small stylized clouds. Block text at the bottom reads "BROADWAY AT KETTNER" above "SAN DIEGO."
