Original to c.1925, this Art Deco cluster ring is an exquisite example of antique craftsmanship. Set with several round old-cut diamonds, all in rub-over settings finished with millegrain edging. The old-cut is an antique diamond cut which emerged at the end of the 19th century. These diamonds were the first to be cut in-the-round and were entirely facetted by hand - no two are ever identical and this is part of their charm! They have a much softer and romantic glow as opposed to the harsh scintillation of modern laser-cut diamonds.
The ring is designed as an elongated cluster ring that extends up the finger and features fine platinum open-work in delicate scrolling motifs. Further set with single-cut diamonds. The gallery sits pleasingly low on the finger, making this ring as comfortable as it is pretty. The shoulders are solid and feature incredible hand engraved foliate motifs. This detail is one of our favourite things about this ring - a joy to admire from every angle!
