About DemeTECH’s Chromic Catgut Suture

DemeTECH’s Chromic Catgut (CC) suture is a monofilament, sterile, absorbable surgical suture primarily composed of highly purified connective tissue, primarily collagen, sourced from either the serosal layer of beef (bovine) or the submucosal fibrous layer of sheep (ovine) intestines. To enhance its performance, DemeTECH’s Chromic Catgut is treated with a chromium salt solution. This treatment helps it resist the enzymes in the body, leading to an extended absorption period of up to 90 days. The chromic coating not only prolongs the suture's integrity but also minimizes tissue irritation, resulting in reduced internal reactions.
