Why this kit matters
The Brewster Body Shield was one of the earliest serious attempts to give infantry soldiers personal body armour during modern warfare. Developed in the United States during the First World War, it consisted of chrome nickel steel body plates combined with a heavy helmet designed to resist shrapnel and small-arms fire.
The armour weighed around 18 kilograms, which made movement difficult for soldiers in combat conditions. Because of this, it saw very limited practical use and was never widely adopted. Its unusual appearance and early attempt at ballistic protection make it an important piece of military development history.
How to use it
Build using paint and glue. Display proudly once finished, at home or in your collection cabinet.
This is a plastic model kit. Assembly, paint, and glue are required. It is not a toy.
