Why this kit matters
The Martin B-26 Marauder entered service in 1941 as a fast medium bomber built for the United States Army Air Forces. It was powered by two Pratt & Whitney radial engines and designed for speed, which gave it strong combat performance but also led to demanding handling during take-off and landing in early service.
The B-26B became the most widely produced variant and served extensively in Europe and the Mediterranean. Crews used it for low and medium altitude bombing missions against bridges, railways, airfields, and troop positions. By the later stages of the war, the Marauder earned one of the lowest combat loss rates among Allied bombers in Europe.
