The Dark Clear Skies 2″ UV/IR Cut Filter is designed to block unwanted ultraviolet and infrared wavelengths while maintaining high transmission across the visible spectrum. It is intended for astrophotography and imaging applications where accurate colour balance and sharp focus are required.

Many modern astronomy cameras and optical systems are sensitive to ultraviolet and infrared light, which can cause bloated stars, reduced sharpness, and colour imbalance. A UV/IR cut filter helps limit the incoming light to the visible range, improving overall image quality.
This filter is suitable for use with one-shot colour cameras, monochrome cameras without integrated UV/IR blocking, and optical systems not specifically corrected for infrared wavelengths.
Designed to fit standard 2″ (M48) filter threads commonly used in astronomy accessories, including filter wheels, filter drawers, and imaging adapters.
